If you have lived in Woodland Hills for some time, you probably know that the issue of cityhood comes up almost every other year. There have been some recent developments with our adjacent neighbors that required discussion as a neighborhood.
As such, we surveyed our neighborhood to learn that 78% would opt for Brookhaven over Atlanta, if remaining unincorporated Dekalb was no longer an option. (This is a very real possibility since there are no longer unincorporated areas of Fulton County.) After a series of town hall meetings in January to explore the benefits of City of Brookhaven, a process began to seek signatures on a petition to determine whether 60% of owners and registered voters would indeed move forward at this time. This is known as the "60% Method of Annexation" in Georgia.
With the belief that more of our tax dollars should stay in our neighborhood for better service delivery, many of you have already signed at your doorstep or at an in-person signing event. Our goal is to make certain that everyone in Woodland Hills has a
VOICE and a CHOICE!
